Join us as we learn all about the great New York apple! As the official fruit of New York State, the apple holds a special place in our hearts and on our tables. This six-part series, featuring three events this spring and three more this fall, will explore every step of the apple’s journey from orchard to plate. Each virtual event is a live, 45-minute experience featuring a different New York apple producer, packer, shipper or processor.

In Part 1: “Squeeze the Day: A Journey from Branch to Bottle,” we will immerse ourselves in apple juice production with Red Jacket Orchards. Located in the beautiful Finger Lakes, Red Jacket has been family owned and operated since 1958.

See the fascinating process of creating Red Jacket Orchards’ famous cold press juice made from apples grown in the heart of New York. This exciting journey starts with thousands of pounds of raw apples arriving at Red Jacket’s processing plant, and then traveling through a dizzying process of washing, pressing and bottling before finding their way into local grocery stores as cold pressed juice. Come see the secrets that make every bottle of Red Jacket Orchards juice delicious and nutritious.

Co-hosted by New York Agriculture in the Classroom, this tour features direct tie-ins of the sights, sounds and operations of a juice press to classroom curriculum, and offers a sneak peek into this exciting process that will leave you thirsty for more!

Can’t join us live? No problem! – You can still register and receive a link to the recording 24 hours after the event.
