California Farm Day – Elementary Students
February 27, 2025
10 a.m.-11 a.m. (PT)
Join us for an extraordinary virtual journey into California agriculture!
Agriculture is more than tending crops and milking cows. Agriculture thrives on a diverse network of scientists, growers, mechanics, markets, educators…and many more who all play a role in getting California’s 400 commodities from farm, field or forest to you.
Through a mix of pre-recorded segments and live interactive hosts, classrooms will explore what it means to work in the wide and wonderful world of agriculture. Our newest edition of the “What’s Growin’ On?” student newspaper with the theme of “Imagine your Future in Agriculture” will act as a guide for our Farm Day adventures.
This registration is for the Farm Day intended for elementary students in grades PreK-5.
California Foundation for Ag in the Classroom
The California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating youth throughout California about the importance of agriculture in their daily lives. We do this through: Developing materials that are accurate, teacher-tested and scientifically sound to enhance the educational experience of K-12 students. Providing programs, inspiration and training opportunities for educators. Partnering with like-minded organizations to create awareness about the significance of agriculture in our everyday lives. Recognizing teachers and students for their achievements in agricultural literacy. Supporting the pursuit of agricultural careers and continuing education. Our mission is to increase awareness and understanding of agriculture among California's educators and students. Our vision is an appreciation of agriculture by all.
